Manufacturing Support

Manufacturing Support

We help bring designs into production — covering both mechanical parts and electronic assemblies. Most projects need both, and the handoff between the two is usually where things go wrong.

Our role here is straightforward. We work with machine shops, sheet-metal fabricators, injection-moulders, PCB fabs and assembly houses. We run the supplier RFQs, review designs for manufacturability, sit in on first-article inspections, and stay engaged through pilot runs and ramp. Whether you're going from prototype to first production batch, switching suppliers, or trying to fix yield on something that's already in the field, we can help.

The work, in plain terms

The day-to-day of a manufacturing-support engagement. Most projects pull in some mix of these depending on where the product is in its lifecycle.

Supplier Selection

Sourcing the right shop for the job. We run the RFQs, compare the quotes properly, and recommend the partner that fits the volume and quality you need.

Design for Manufacturing

A review pass on the design before it goes to production — catching tolerances, features, or BOM choices that will cause problems at the supplier.

NPI & Pilot Runs

Walking the design through the first batch — typically 10 to 100 units — to confirm everything builds the way it was designed before scaling up.

BOM & Drawing Pack

Cleaning up the documentation that goes to suppliers. Lifecycle checks on parts, second sources, and drawings that aren't ambiguous.

First-Article Inspection

Dimensional and functional checks on the first parts off the line. We attend in person when it makes sense and produce a signed report.

Yield & Cost Recovery

When something is already in production and not working — root-cause investigation, corrective actions, and getting yield or cost back where it should be.

What we cover

The manufacturing processes our partner network handles, plus the in-house work we do directly.

Subtractive

CNC Machining

3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling and turning in aluminium, steel, brass, and engineering plastics. Prototype and short-run production.

Forming

Sheet Metal Fabrication

Laser cutting, bending, welding, and finishing for enclosures, brackets, and panel assemblies.

Tooling

Injection Moulds & Tooling

Mould design, T1 sample qualification, and production tooling for plastic parts. Includes silicone, urethane, and cast-tool options for low volumes.

Additive

3D Printing

SLA, SLS, and FDM in engineering plastics for prototypes, fixtures, and low-volume end-use parts.

PCB

PCB Fabrication

Bare-board fabrication from 2 to 16 layers, including rigid-flex and HDI builds, through audited fab partners.

Electronics

PCB Assembly

SMT, through-hole, and mixed-technology assembly. AOI, X-ray on BGA parts, and IPC-A-610 build acceptance.

Final Assembly

Box Build & Integration

Final assembly bringing mechanical and electronic parts together — wiring, harnessing, sealing, and end-of-line testing.

Finishing

Surface Treatment

Anodising, powder coating, plating, painting, and laser marking — coordinated through specialist subcontractors.
